Architect Emilio Tuñón came to talk to us about the Royal Collections Gallery project.
More than the finished work, it was interesting to learn about the entire process required for a project of this scale: the research, the study of the site and its history, the decisions, conversations, and the time invested in it.
During our discussion, he shared some very thought-provoking reflections on time as a building material and the importance of, even while attending to the smallest detail, remaining open to chance and the unexpected. These were ideas he had already explored in CIRCO, and hearing them in person and in relation to the project took on a deeper meaning.
