¿Who are we?
Alcor is a women´s college founded in 1965 and affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid.
During the 2018-2019 academic year, and after more tan 50 service to the university community and families, a comprehensive renovation was carried out to update the facilities and adapt the college to become a benchmark nationally and internationally.
This transformation has been accompanied by the design of an innovative cultural plan that aims to make Alcor a benchmark in the university world and provide its students with a unique curriculum that will help them become true agents of change at the service of society.
Alcor is therefore, much more than a place t olive. Alcor is a holistic experience, an open space for coexistence, dialogue, and learning. Alcor is the place where future leaders of society are trained.
60th Aniversary
Sixty years ago, Alcor acquired the status of a university hall of residence, having been inaugurated just three years earlier as a training centre.
More than 5.800 students of diverse nationalities and different regions of Spain have studied during these years, preparing for university through the experience of a College that shares values and instills a humanistic and academic education.
Over the past 60 years, we have been building a future and educating in freedom all those women who have passed through our doors and made Alcor their home.
Our society has changed, but our students retain the indelible mark of years that helped them live their university experience to the fullest. Many of them are part of our alumni programmes and stay in touch with Alcor through the various initiatives and activities they organise. Today they return home to celebrate because they are part of something meaningful and unique in the history of the Colegio Mayor.
