As you begin this new phase away from home, Alcor offers a safe and welcoming environment in which to grow, develop professionally, and develop as a person.

In addition to studying for your degree, you´ll have the opportunity t olive with students from different disciplines and learn from professionals in diverse fields, thus spanding your personal and academic background.

Study

One of Alcor´s hallmarks is fostering a supportive learning environment. We area committed to quality study time. The facilities and the example of other colleagues are a motivation to effectively increase the quality of study time. The College has comfortable spaces to ensure performance and offers numerous study rooms, seminars and work rooms.

Family

We are a unique residence hall, where you´ll experience a welcoming, friendly, and trusting atmosphere. At Alcor, we wantyou to feel at home. That´s why we make it easy for the residents to get to know each other and learn to live together politely, lovingly and respectfully. This is possible thanks to the fostering of spaces for sharing, such as after-meal coffee-chats, birthday celebrations, and many other small details that fill the coexistence.

Freedom

The Alcor training project is of Christian inspiration, which is reflected in the values that permeate our work: respect for personal freedom, the desire of improvement and advancement, a positive vision of people, a job well done, the promotion of social and service values and a climate of trust and cordiality that permeates all college life.

Orientation

The Alcor College´s educational Project is Christian-inspired and promoted by Opus Dei, and institution of the Catholic Church founded by Saint Josemaria Escrivá de Balaguer. It´s misión es to spread the message that work and ordinary circumstances are opportunities for encounter with God, service to others, and the improvement of society.

The educational activities promoted by our College are guided by respect for the dignity and equality of each person. They aim to ensure that our students become free, honest, caring, hardworking, joyful, and generous…in short good citizens who contribute to building a better world.

Activities

Throughout the course, we offer a varied program of cultural, educational, charitable, and recreational activities that complement the academic experience and Foster the personal growth of our residents.

Social activities

Upon arrival at Alcor New residents participates in social activities designed to facilitate their integration, créate bonds, and begin this stage with the supportand warmth that characterizes us.

Weekend seminars

Through the course, we organize intensive seminars (3 to 4 hours) on topics of interest such as sexuality, spirituality, art, and writting, among others. This provides a space to explore, learn and share interest in a relaxed atmosphere.

Cultural Gatherings

Every Monday from September to April, discussions are held on current topics with guest speakers. After informal dinner with a small group of residents, and open sesión takes place in the form of an interview and discussion. A unique opportunity for thoughtful and interactive dialogue.

Volunteering

At Alcor we believe that social commitment is also part of university education. That´s why we actively participate in programs such as No child withouth toys, Painting for others, No senior alone (awarded by the Mutua Madrileña Foundation), support for the sick, food bank campaigns, and no one-off aid such as that for those affected by DANA in Valencia.

Black & White

February is filled with music, art, and fun with this anual recreational initiative, organized by the residents themselves. An event that has features flamenco concerts and groups like Yakare and has become a classic of our calendar.

Conmemorative Days

We celebrate key dates together, both regional and international fostering culture and a sense of community.

Birthdays

Every birthday is a reason to celebrate: congratulations on screens and social media..and a cake chosen by the birthday girl to share a lunch.

Sports Competitions

We participate in leagues, tournaments, and sports events with other University Halls of Residence and the Association of University Halls of Residence.

Alcor Colloquia

An anual event focused on topics of general interest that invite dialogue, reflection and collective enrichment.

We join in national and international commemorations that promote important values and causes.

The Alcor Personal Development Program (PDPA)

The Alcor Personal Development Program (PDPA) is a tool that the College offres residents so they can optimize their skills and complement their university aeducation by acquiring knowledge and skills that allow them to develop their potential and contribute to building society as responsible citizens.
